HELP TO BUILD A CHURCH IN MUSTAMÄE!The congregation of Mary Magdalene in Mustamäe belongs to Estonian Evangelical Lutheran Church (EELK) and is located in the Mustamäe district in Tallinn. Current address is: A.H. Tammsaare tee 135, Tallinn.
This is the area of Tallinn City mostly of panel blocks and with population more than 60 000. Because most of the Mustamäe is built during Soviet time, when Christianity and all non communistic movements where disfavoured, there are no churches in this area. And thats why in September 2008 six people gathered to pray for the establishment of a new church. |

2009. a suvel andis Nõmme Rahu kogudus hea võimaluse kasutada
nende koguduse ruume jumalateenistusteks ja huviringide pidamiseks. Nõmmel käidi koos terve aasta ja korraldati selle aja jooksul esimesi heategevusüritusi Mustamäe lastele. Huvilisi, kes koguduse tegemistest osa võtsid, tuli järjest juurde. 2010. a septembrist alates rendib Mustamäe kogudus ruume Mustamäe Linnaosa Valitsuse maja keldris. Üheskoos sai keldriruumisest kujundatud kaunis kirik ja soetatud koguduse tööks vajaminevad vahendid. Tänu oma ruumidele sai võimalikuks koguduse ametlik asutamine. 23. novembril 2010. a otsustas EELK Kirikogu kinnitada Mustamäe Maarja Magdaleena koguduse Eesti Evangeelse Luterliku kiriku liikmeks. 2011. a algusest käib elu Mustamäe Maarja Magdaleena koguduses nagu paljudes teistes Eestimaa kirikutes. Kirik valmib annetuste toel. Iga inimese toetus on oluline ning ka Sina saad kaasa aidata Mustamäe kiriku valmimisele! Oma annetused saate teha meie arveldusarvele Luminor Bank AS pangas nr EE241700017003221206 Lisades saajaks EELK Mustamäe Maarja Magdaleena kogudus. Detailid avalehe lõpus. Oleme tänulikud igale annetajale! |
At first, people came together in their homes and in the premises of Tallinn Jaani Church (old cathedral in the center of Tallinn) in order to get to know each other through the reading of the Bible, praying, believing and hoping for God to lead the way. Six months after, services began to be held at the chapel of the Institute of Theology of the EELK as well as in the premises of Tallinn University of Technology. These were interesting times full of hope.
As of September 2010, Mustamäe congregation has been renting its premises in the cellar of Mustamäe District Administration. Together, a beautiful church was designed and created; also all things necessary for the church work were acquired. Thanks to these premises, it was possible to establish the congregation officially. On November 23, 2010 the synod of EELK decided to confirm the Mustamäe congregation as a member of the EELK. Since the beginning of 2011, life in Mustamäe Mary Magdalene’s Church is like in many other Estonian churches. There is a service every Sunday, midday prayer service on Tuesday, once a month a Taize prayer, course of Theology and a tea party for the elderly. Playgroups for babies and children as well as young people gather on a regular basis. For summers, the congregation with the help of its supporters has organized camps for the children of Mustamäe and has also tried to help the families who are not doing well financially. While doing their everyday work, members of the congregation have also constantly prayed for the building of their own church. Good cooperation with the Mustamäe District Administration has led to the signing of a contract between EELK and the city of Tallinn on July 3, 2012. On the basis of this document, a permission to build a church on the property lot Kiili 9 in Mustamäe was granted to the EELK. From 21 of March till 21 of June 2013 Mustamäe Mary Magdalene’s Church open architectural contest was held with the help of the Union of Estonian Architects. 31 competitors – different Estonian architects- took part of it and on 28 of August the entrant „FIAT LUX“ („Let there be light“) was announced as the winner of this contest. The aim of the church is to serve God and people, following the example of Jesus. Our wish is to build a temple that would suit the needs of today’s society and offer a possibility for the people of Mustamäe to go to a church that is located close to their homes. The future building is designed to encompass a church hall, rooms for childcare and youth help services, different activity rooms that could be used for spiritual counseling and diaconal work, church kitchen and office with auxiliary rooms. The church will be built with the help of donations. Everybody’s contribution counts – You, too, can give a hand for the construction of Mustamäe church! Your donations can be made to our current account nr EE241700017003221206 SWIFT: NDEAEE2X EELK Mustamäe Maarja Magdaleena kogudus in Luminor Bank AS Bank.
